Meet the works of \u2018the master of Korean abstract sculpture\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 22 bronze sculptures of tattoo props by world-renowned sculptor Moon Jae-in (1923-1995) are gathered in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gwanhun-dong, Seoul, where special exhibitions such as Goam Lee Eung-no's posthumous work exhibition and exhibition of six generations of oriental painters were held. Yoon Gallery<\/strong> held a \u2018Feast of Tattoo Prop Sculptures\u2019 on the 22nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As props, you can see the artist's famous ant series, protozoa, and abstract figures such as love and harmony. In particular, this is the first time that a total of 22 bronze tattoo prop sculptures are displayed in one place, and most of them are unreleased works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his 20-year stay in France in the 1960s, artist Shin Moon toured various European countries and presented his unique formative world through over 100 exhibitions, raising the status of Korean sculpture. His sculptures, which have been praised as 'the master of abstract sculpture', come from eclecticism that appropriately combines vitalism and constructivism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been loved for a long time because it is an organic form that impresses from any direction and appeals to a sense of life through rhythm and balance. In particular, his small items are of interest to many collectors due to their beauty of form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the total 22 pieces shown in this exhibition, 11 are from the collection of Yoon Yong-cheol, president of Yoon Gallery. The other one was borrowed from the Tattoo Art Museum. Therefore, this exhibition is not for sales purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seongsuk Choi, Moonshin's wife and director of the Moonshin Art Museum, said, "This year marks the 10th anniversary of Moonshin's death, and various memorial exhibitions have been held non-stop in Korea, New York, Spain, and other places. \u201cThis exhibition is the final part of the memorial exhibition, and displays his small items created since his time in Paris in the 1960s in one place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
